READ THIS!: Traditional Format Outline
Traditional Format is one of 3 major formats in Yu-Gi-Oh!.
The ban list for Advanced and Traditional format can be found here: http://www.yugioh-card.com/uk/gameplay/detail.php?id=1155.
If you are in UK/Europe, then you will also need to check card legality here:
http://www.yugioh-card.com/uk/gameplay/legality.html.
These formats are:
Advanced Format: This follows a ban list which is updated once every six months (on March 1st and September 1st). This format encompasses most of the game. This format (like every other format) includes both casual and competitive play. Most major events are held in Advanced Format. Advanced does not mean more difficult, if anything it is the easier of the formats to play in.
Traditional Format: This follows the same ban list as Advanced Format, however, all Forbidden cards are Limited instead. This means that Traditional Format is not a format that uses old-style cards like Black Luster Soldier and Dark Magician, rather it is a format with lowered restrictions on it.
Pegasus League: This varies and encompasses various restriction such as deck count, rarity, etc. This changes semi-regularly from what I know.
If you are new to Yu-Gi-Oh!, please post in the Newbie section, not here. "Random Decks" do not belong in the Traditional section. If you are not using Forbidden cards, post in one of the other deck sections.
Things that do not belong in this forum:
Retro Formats: e.g. Goat Control or Tele-DAD. They go in Miscellaneous.
Character decks: These should really be in Miscellaneous, but they can go here if they meet the ban list.
Unlimited Format: Those decks go in Miscellaneous.
Decks without Forbidden cards: These belong in Advanced or Miscellaneous.
I hope that clarifies things.
